About PCs Made Simple

PCs Made Simple began in 2006, back then it was just Clifford and his brother, Daniel. After visiting what we now consider to be one of our main competitors and deciding they could do a much better job, they set up shop in Clifford’s front room and began work on the foundations of what we have today: a thriving local business that prides itself on amazing customer service, fair and honest pricing, and a commitment to keep things simple.

Things went great for a while but pressure from Clifford’s wife and family, and the need for a greater retail space, prompted the move to our first shop, 312 Ashley Road. It opened in 2010 and before long we had built up a loyal base of customers who started to appreciate how simple computer repairs can be made when you visit a little I.T. shop with a dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable team.

And it wasn’t long before we started earning awards to prove it! In 2013 we won “Top of the Shops” for customer service up against 300 local businesses, and in 2014 we won the PCR Magazine award for “Service & Support”, a national award. We’ve also been runners up in 3 more PCR Awards including “Independent Retailer” (twice, in 2013 and 2016) and “System Builder” (in 2015).

In mid-2015 we also looked into becoming a Which? Trusted Trader and in October of the same year we passed their rigorous assessment process, earning their endorsement and the use of their famous confidence-inspiring logo.

By now we had fixed thousands of PCs and assembled and tested hundreds of custom alternatives to the “off-the-shelf” products sold by other, larger shops. We’ve since seen an impressively high percentage of these customers return with other issues or for another of our custom PCs because the service they received from us the first time simply can’t be beaten anywhere else.

Our high street shop and our loyal base of customers was also starting to earn a bit of a name for ourselves, this was opening the door to many businesses in the area who needed someone like us to help simplify their I.T.

We’ve since worked with over 60 local businesses, many of which are supported primarily by our team. Take a look at our Case Studies page in the Business section of our website for more details of what we’ve done for local and national companies alike.

In late 2015, after discussions with a local charity, we set our hearts towards one of the most essential and important topics we could, education. We started running our free Young System Builders events where we invite 4 to 8 children and one of their parents to come and join us at the incredible Safewise Safety Centre in Bournemouth to learn about and assemble a computer of their own.

We are now looking to utilise a network of like-minded businesses to turn this into a national event.

To 2016 now and sadly we are starting to outgrow our little I.T shop… But we won’t be moving far! Our new shop is located almost immediately opposite, but at three times the size we’re very excited to fill it up with stock, demo equipment and displays to stun the pants of you! We expect to be moving officially in September.

We’re also now opening up services to PC gamers, tailoring them towards tasks you might need some expert help with, such as “overclocking”, upgrades, and of course, the latest and greatest tech available. Soon to include Virtual Reality headsets!

If you’d like to experience the simple way to do I.T, you need nothing more than to come and see our team. We’re always happy to chat about pretty much anything technology and will freely provide help, advice, and free diagnostics in our shop. Businesses are also entitled to a free 1 hour introduction!
